Debra Gillen Anderson

October 24, 1952 — May 26, 2020

Debra Gillen Anderson, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 surrounded by her family at her home in Oasis, Utah. She was born on October 24, 1952 in Delta, the third of five children of Deon J & LaVean Lovell Gillen. She grew up on the family farm in Oasis. While growing up she enjoyed and excelled in gymnastics and art. She graduated from Delta High School. She married Jack R. Anderson on August 22, 1969 in the Manti LDS Temple.

Deb worked at the sewing factory in Hinckley, Delta Milling and Oasis Seed. However, her favorite job was being a mother and making her home a warm and inviting place. She was Mom to six kids and the “adopted” mom to many of her kids’ friends and others from the community. She enjoyed sewing and was very skilled at drawing. She started her own photography service, taking shots for senior pictures, weddings and other events. She enjoyed trips camping and hunting with her family. She was the most patient woman and was always the peacemaker.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings and volunteered many years along with her husband at the Manti Temple.

She will always be remembered for her caring and welcoming heart. No one will forget her friendly smile to greet you when stopping by her home.

Debra is survived by her husband: Jack R. Anderson; children: Seth Anderson, Tabetha Anderson, Jilian King, Bridgette (Russel) King, Westly (Shonessi) Anderson; grandchildren: Jackalyn, Jerri, Jordan, Kiara, Raquel, McKinlie, Sage, Tayden, Lillian; great-grandchildren: Zalee and Bentley; sister: Opal (Gail) Cluff. She was preceded in death by her daughter: Sonia Anderson; parents and siblings: Eric, Clyde, Colleen.
