Anna Jane Alldredge Dutson

July 31, 1949 — August 21, 2020

Anna Jane Alldredge Dutson was born on July 31, 1949 in Delta, Utah, number six of the seven children born to Mervyn Jay “Pizzy” and Bernice Roper Alldredge. She married her high school sweetheart, Lambert Dutson, on March 8, 1969 in the Manti LDS Temple. She passed away on Friday, August 21, 2020 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Oak City, Utah due to ovarian cancer. She was 71.

Anna’s life was one of service to her church, family, friends, neighbors and community. Someone once told her that she knew how to get things done, and that she did. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as Stake Young Women’s President and Stake Girl’s Camp Director. She served in the Oak City 2nd Ward Young Women’s and Primary organizations.  Prior to becoming ill, she spent her Fridays serving in the Payson Temple, where she was loved by all those around her.

Anna lived most of her life in Oak City and loved her community. Her service continued as Town Days Chairman. In the 1980's, she oversaw the beautification of the Oak City Park with new playground equipment and trees. She also played a part in rescuing the old Oak City church bell, which is now housed in its original steeple. It is located on the corner of the Oak City Town Hall, where it can be seen and heard. One of her biggest projects was assisting in the compiling of the Oak City History Book: 1969-2012, “As Firm as the Mountain Around Us”.

Anna was deeply loved by her family, friends, and neighbors and will be greatly missed by them all. Anna will be remembered as a woman who gave her whole life in doing for others.

Anna’s greatest accomplishment and joy was being a mother to her six children: Kylei (Bill) Wignall, Kirt (Roxane) Dutson, Hollie (Martel) Anderson, Lana (Roy) Owens, Angie (J.L.) Young, and Caleb Dutson; and a Grannie to her 27 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her devoted husband: W. Lambert Dutson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 29, at 11:00am, at the Oak City LDS Chapel, 35 East Center Street. Viewings will be held on Friday, 7:00-8:00pm, at the Nickle Mortuary, 190 S Center St; and Saturday, 9:00-10:40am, prior to the service. Masks and social distancing are strongly encouraged. Burial will follow in the Oak City Cemetery.
