Ryan Barney Nickle

March 12, 1987 — February 9, 2021

Our loving gentle giant, son, brother and friend, Ryan Barney Nickle, passed away unexpectedly on February 9, 2021 in Delta, Utah at the age of 33. Ryan was born in Delta, Utah on March 12, 1987 to John Lloyd and Marsha Barney Nickle. From a young age, Ryan stole the hearts of everyone he met with his big blue eyes and his heart of gold. He was the baby of the family and appropriately spoiled.

Ryan loved hunting, golfing, coin collecting, wood working, singing off key, and making everyone laugh. Ryan enjoyed being outdoors and loved all animals. He had a great sense of humor and a talent for embracing humanity. He was an example of compassion, tolerance, pure kindness and unconditional love.

In 2005, Ryan graduated from Delta High School. While in high school, he loved “conquering the world” with his friends, wrestling, football, and golf. Through golf, he earned a scholarship to attend Dixie State College. He later transferred to Utah Valley University to further his education in business.

Ryan had a strong testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ. He earned his Arrow of Light, Duty to God, and Eagle Scout Awards. He served an honorable mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 2007-2009, in Tulsa Oklahoma. Ryan served as an Assistant to the President where he had many wonderful experiences and established lifelong friendships.

Ryan was incredibly skilled with his hands. He could often be found framing a house, manicuring a yard, working on cabinetry, or welding metal projects. If you met Ryan, you were an instant friend. Because of this ability, he spent many years working in customer service. Ryan was unapologetically himself and he genuinely loved everyone. He was impossible not to love in return. Ryan had a zest for life and a sense of adventure that could not be tamed. One of the highlights of his life was skydiving with his friends. Through these numerous adventures, we often joked that God had given him nine lives. The unbearable truth that these lives have finally run out is devastating to all that knew him.

We sure love you, Ronedogg.
We are so proud of your strength, tenacity, and the courage it took to endure your trials.
We will miss you.

Ryan is survived by his parents: John and Marsha Nickle; his four older siblings: Nate (Erika) Nickle, Andy (Amber) Nickle, Alison (Kresdon) Hughes, and Aubree Nickle; and his 12 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: James L and Orvetta Nickle, and Joe and Helen Barney.

We invite everyone to attend his Funeral Service on Saturday, February 13, at 12:00 noon, held at the Delta LDS Stake Center, 125 South White Sage Ave, Delta. A Viewing will be held at the church on Saturday, 10:00-11:40 am, prior to the service. Friends are also invited to view the recorded video of the service at: https://youtu.be/l8ItvWhOOfQ . Burial will be in the Delta City Cemetery.
