Carol Christensen Worthen

June 10, 1936 — December 1, 2012

Carol Christensen was born June 10, 1936 at Price, Utah to Nola O’Neil Christensen and Perry Elias Christensen. She was the third child of six, with two older sisters, two younger sisters, and one younger brother. She was a coal miner’s daughter (although she couldn’t sing). She grew up in Carbon County and attended Carbon High School where she met her future husband, Bruce Worthen. She and Bruce fell in love and were married December 3, 1954 in Price and later sealed in the Provo Temple in 1975. They had two children, Doug and Ralene. Carol passed away December 1, 2012 in Pheonix, Arizona at age 76.

Carol was a perfectionist in everything she did. She loved making things with her hands and giving her projects to those she loved. She was especially good at crocheting, making crafts, and painting. She worked for several years at First Security Bank in Delta, Utah. After she retired from First Security Bank, she and Bruce became full time “ RVers ” and “snowbirds,” traveling south and spending their winters in Arizona. She loved traveling around and meeting new people and made friends everywhere she went.

She is survived by her husband: Bruce; her sisters: Joyce Anderson, Gail Pagano, and Susan Wilstead; her brother: Perry Christensen;  her children: Doug and Cheryl Worthen, Dennis and Ralene Anderson; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Gloria Seal.

The funeral will be held at the Delta Sixth Ward Chapel, 125 S. White Sage Ave, Delta, Utah, on December 8, 2012 at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held before the funeral from 9:30-10:40 am. Burial will be in the Oasis Cemetery under the direction of Nickle Mortuary.
