Philip Nathan Singleton

October 28, 1970 — November 12, 2021

Philip Nathan Singleton, age 51, of Hinckley, Utah and formerly West Jordan, Utah passed away unexpectedly on November 12, 2021 in Provo, Utah. He is survived by his wife, Lori Clawson Singleton, and their eight stunning children: Ashton, Skyler, Cade, Ethan, Gavin, Paisley, Summer and Xander. Philip’s parents and siblings also mourn his passing; Will and Jan Singleton, Tim and Myrna Dukes, Andrew Singleton, Matthew Singleton, and Rebekah O’Brien. He is also survived by dozens of nieces and nephews who will miss his pranks, chases, wrestling matches, and fireworks.

Philip was born October 28, 1970 in Opelika, Alabama. If Philip were to write his own obituary, it would say only this:  “He lived. He died. That’s all you need to know.”  However, in between those two events, he was able to live life at full throttle. He donated frequently, but not voluntarily, to the Pike County, Georgia traffic court as a teenager and young adult, and never really learned to drive. These experiences may have prompted his admonishments to his own children. “You’d better check yourself before you wreck yourself.”

In high school Philip worked hard, enjoyed band, and excelled at playing the trumpet. He also achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.

As a young adult Philip served a mission to Mexico and Texas. Philip and his wife, Lori, married in 1998 in the Salt Lake Temple, relocated from Georgia to Utah in 2004, and have raised their children here. He was employed as an IT Network Engineer and had a great talent in this field.

He taught his children to love God, life, family, and to live without fear. He also took the opportunity to embarrass his children like all good parents, often making animal noises at people from his car window.

Philip's greatest joys came from his family. He has gone before them to the next life where he waits for them to join him in more silly songs and dances.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 20, at 12 noon, at the Hinckley LDS Chapel, 188 North Main St, Hinckley, Utah. Visitation from 11-11:40 am, prior to the service. Burial in the Hinckley Cemetery under the direction of Nickle Mortuary.
