Larry Keith Moody

July 13, 1940 — February 15, 2022

On February 15, 2022 the family of Larry Keith Moody lost their hero. Larry was born on July 13, 1940 in Deseret, Utah to George Keith and Beth Pewtress Moody. Larry spent his childhood in Deseret, Utah enjoying all the adventures a boy could have in a small town: riding horses, fishing the river, hunting anything that moved, soaping windows of cars, letting birds go on the school bus, swimming in the ditch, and working on the family farm. When Larry was 14 or 15, he worked on the Black’s Ranch on the Vernon Range, a job that he loved.

Larry met the love of his life Suzy Ann Thompson at the A&W in Delta, Utah. They were married on August 12, 1960. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Larry and Suzy loved to take their family camping, fishing, hunting and on vacations to anywhere that got them “out of the City”

Larry worked in the steel industry as a pipe fitter/welder.  Larry was the superintendent of many projects in his lifetime. He worked all over the United States. He was loved by many of the men and women that worked for him.

Larry had a strong testimony of Our Savior and looked forward to going home. He is now with his loved ones that he has missed for so long.

Larry is survived by his children: Larry Brent Moody (Cathy),  Lorie Sue Brinkerhoff (Gene), Sherry Ann Keller (Roger) and James Warren Moody (Catrina); 22 grandchildren and 53 great grandchildren and many many of his children’s friends that he and Suzy took in and loved; siblings: Elaine Judd, Dennis Moody, and Kathy Shortt. He was preceded in death by his parents: Keith and Beth; his sweetheart: Suzy; his sister: Venice Bishop; and his great grandson: Axel Monroe.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 21, at 11:00am, at the Deseret-Oasis LDS Chapel, 3423 W 4500 S Delta. A Viewing will be held 9:30-10:40am, prior to the service. Those unable to attend in person are invited to view the video of the service. The link will be posted with his obituary at www.nicklemortuary.com. Burial will be in the Deseret Cemetery.
