Vicki Leigh Baldwin

August 29, 1960 — April 3, 2022

Vicki Leigh Baldwin, beloved Mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend, returned to her Heavenly home on Sunday, April 3, 2022 in San Diego, CA. Vicki was born August 29, 1960 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the eldest daughter to Roy D. Baldwin and Sharon Parker Baldwin. She was a lover of music and spent many years learning vocal performance, piano and flute. During her high school years she also enjoyed participating in the swim team, and spending time with her extended family skiing in the Rocky Mountains. Vicki was raised in Moraga in Northern California, graduating from Campolindo High School in 1978. Upon graduating high school, she attended Brigham Young University putting her extensive music skills to use as part of the Young Ambassador Program. While in college, Vicki began her most important work, that of being a wife and a mother.

Vicki was blessed to be a mother to one girl and three boys. She and her husband Gary Clark welcomed their first two children Amber Leigh, in Concord, California and Benjamin Lee born in Grand Island, Nebraska.  Vicki then had the opportunity to be trained as an EMT and to serve as a medical trainer at the air-force base in Germany for several years.  While there, she welcomed her third child, Jared Redford. After living in Germany for five years and enjoying her first taste of European life, Vicki returned to Utah and welcomed her fourth and youngest child, Ryan Jason. Vicki’s greatest joy in life was watching her children grow, progress, and supporting them in their dreams and life goals.  With great love and support from her parents and extended family members, Vicki raised her children while working in her new found love for European and World travel.  She worked at and owned her own travel agency for most of her adult years creating memories for families to travel the world - sharing with them her passion and joy for life as she created their travel adventures. Vicki herself was also a worldwide traveler.  In the last decade alone she was able to visit 41 countries with her family and friends.  She was a lover of art (owning her art gallery for a period of time), culture, world history, people, and especially family history.  Some of her recent adventures and favorite stories were visits she herself took with her mother to the homeland of their ancestors. Vicki had a great love for her ancestors, as part of her faith as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she enjoyed studying their lives and participating in temple ordinances on their behalf.  Vicki was a light to all who met her, bringing smiles, joy and laughter to every interaction. Her Christ-like love for all she met is an example to be emulated by all who experienced it.

Vicki is survived by her mother: Sharon Baldwin; sister: Jill Baldwin (Holly Mason); brother: Ryan Baldwin (Wendy Norris); four children: Amber Nickle (Andy), Benjamin Clark, Jared Clark (Megan), and Ryan Clark (Miquela); her nine grandchildren: Zaya, Maylee, Trevor and Ivy Nickle; Karen, Kenneth and Braden Clark; Ila and Sofi Timpson and Tristan and Skylar Clark.

“Strangers are just friends we have not yet met” -Will Rogers (Vicki’s favorite quote)
