Nanci Larue Baldwin Spencer

July 31, 1954 — October 15, 2022

On Saturday, October 15th in Ephraim Canyon, Heaven gained our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Nanci LaRue Baldwin Spencer, as she completed her earthly mission. Nanci was born July 31, 1954, to Kelvin and Helen Deans Baldwin. She was the youngest of seven children.

During high school, she met and married Phillip Chadburn of St. George, Utah. The couple resided most of their married life in Smithfield, Utah where they raised their 6 children: Trevis (deceased), Elayne (John Bair) of Smithfield, Utah; Holly (John Waters) of Mesa, Arizona; Bryan (Tara Chadburn) of St. George, Utah; Heidi (Charlie Barnett) of Grantsville, Utah; and Brandon (Carro Chadburn) of Murray, Utah. Nanci and Phillip were divorced in 1987, but continued to make their family and their children their top priority.

Two years ago, Nanci met and fell in love with Stan Spencer of Chester, Utah. They were married in April of 2021. Nanci was over the moon about Stan and spent every moment she could with him. His family quickly became her family as she cultivated special relationships with Stan's children and grandchildren. They enjoyed ice fishing, camping, gardening and canning. They held family dinners almost every Sunday. Their life together was her dream come true. Nanci was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and found great comfort in her Heavenly Father and her relationship to her Savior. She loved the Gospel and was dedicated to her callings. Nanci found a particular joy in being of service to others and was always looking for opportunities to comfort and assist.

Nanci had a love for all animals.  In her lifetime, she has had numerous cats and dogs, raccoons, skunks, pigs, birds, and many others. The only thing that Nanci loved more than her animals was her grandchildren. Nanci has 35 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. They were her pride and joy. Nanci did not hesitate to support them in their activities, even if she didn't know the sport. She was a fun grandma; she and the children would dance and sing, cook together, have sleepovers and most of all spend quality time with them. She will be deeply missed by all of those who were fortunate enough to have loved her and to have had her in their lives.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 21, at 11:00am, at the Wales LDS Chapel, 92 South 200 West.
