Lucille Elizabeth Weeks Egan

Lucille Elizabeth Weeks Egan, age 95, passed away on January 6, 2023 at the Millard Care and Rehabilitation Center in Delta, Utah. She was born February 11, 1927 in Central City, Nebraska, the eldest of 4 daughters born to Howard “Ted” Martin and Margaret Anne Franssen Weeks. She grew up in Central City. After graduating from Central City High School, she got a job working for the US Army in Washington DC during World War II. She was tasked with writing the letters to inform the families of the deaths of fallen soldiers. After the war, she returned to Nebraska and worked as a waitress. In the mid-1950's, she moved to Granger, Utah and began working for Albertson’s Grocery Store.

Eventually she met the love of her life, Charles Ronald Egan. She married Chuck on January 19, 1965 in Granger, Utah. They soon moved to West Jordan, and in the mid-1980's she switched to work at Food 4 Less. She was a constant friendly face to many shoppers over her many years of service at the grocery store.

Lucille and Chuck had many adventures. Along with their children, they enjoyed riding dirt bikes and fishing. She was very supportive of their participation in the Bee’s Motorcycle Club, and spent many fun weekends watching motorcyclers try to acend the mountain they called “The Widowmaker”. Her family would take a vacation to Mazatlan, Mexico every year, and she enjoyed many other travels. Lucille and her family made many special memories until his passing in July of 1991.

Lucille moved into Millard Care and Rehab in 2015. Her family is very grateful for the excellent care and attention she received there the last seven years.

Lucille is survived by her children: Gary, Nancy, Pat, Bill, Susan, Rick, Margaret, Mary and Bob; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters: Mary Ericksen and Shirley Miller. She is preceded in death by her husband: Chuck Egan; son: Arlie; sister: Marcella; grandsons: Jason McCauley, Flint McCauley, and Riley Powell; great granddaughter: Makenzee Spencer.

According to her wishes, a small family Memorial Service will be held in the spring, when she will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
