Nancy Adell Nelson Church, age 81, passed away on June 9, 2023 in South Jordan, Utah after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born on October 21, 1941, in Las Vegas, Nevada to Reuben Ernest and Pearl Warnick Nelson. She grew up in Delta and graduated from Delta High School. She married her high school sweetheart, David Gordon Church, on September 4, 1959 in the Manti LDS Temple. They first made their home in Cedar City, Utah; as she supported David while he completed his schooling. They later moved to Fillmore for a short time, and then back to Delta where she raised her family. While in Delta, Nancy worked as a bank teller at Valley Bank and First Security. After retiring around 2000, Nancy and David moved to St. George. David passed away on December 1, 2013. In recent years, as her health declined, Nancy moved to an assisted living center in South Jordan, Utah.
Nancy was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, wife and friend. She enjoyed her daily Coke runs with ‘The Girls’. She was incredibly supportive, loving and had an infectious laugh. She loved spending time with her family, especially the many family vacations to Disneyland. Nancy will be missed terribly, but we find comfort knowing that she is reunited with many of her loved ones.
Nancy is survived by her sons: Kevin (Karla), Craig (Valerie); grandchildren: Mackenzie (Tyler), Samantha (Jake), Parker, Kason (Katie), Kyler ( Tanisha); great-grandchildren: Maci, Max, Sydnie, Piper, Remi, Rafe, Avery, MaKynlee, Brek; sister: Linda Cook; brother: Tab (Lana) Nelson; along with countless other family and friends alike. She is predeceased by her husband: David; son: Gordon; father: Reuben; and mother: Pearl Gottfredson.
Funerals Services were held on Sunday, June 18, at 1:00 pm, at the Nickle Mortuary. Those unable to attend are invited to watch the recorded funeral service . Burial was in the Delta City Cemetery.
