Richard "Rick" Lee Harker

July 28, 1954 — September 26, 2023

Richard Lee Harker, age 69, peacefully passed away on Tuesday morning, September 26, 2023 in St. George, Utah surrounded by family. Rick was born on July 28, 1954 in Murray, Utah, to Melvin and Lois Harker, the second of five children. He grew up in Kemmerer, Wyoming, and graduated from Kemmerer High School in 1973, then on to apprentice and become an Iron Worker. In his first married he became father to two children, but the union ended in divorce.

He later married his love, Karen Morrison, on July 8, 1978, in Delta, Utah. He continued iron working until retirement. During his life he worked on numerous projects. Two of his biggest jobs being the IPP power plant near Delta, Utah, and the Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah. Rick also farmed and area of acreage and repaired farm equipment, as a second and third job to keep himself busy.

He and Karen finally retired to St. George, Utah, enjoying there time together until her passing on January 12, 2021. We expect they are having a joyous reunion.

Rick is survived by his children: Teresa Gregg of Arora, Colorado; and Stephen Gregg of Baltimore,  Maryland; 2 grandchildren: Cheyenne DeMarr of Gretna, Nebraska; and James DeMarr of Omaha, Nebraska; 5 great grandchildren: Kaden, Karson, Abbigail, Melodie, and Isabel; many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his loyal, loving canine companion: Zipper; sister: Linette (Robert) Marrow, Sun City, Arizona; sister: Vean (Robert) Beutler, Kemmerer, Wyoming; brother: Cory Harker, Evanston, Wyoming; in-laws: Ann (Bill) Ashby, Philip (Tonya) Morrison, Mike (Marci) Morrison. He is preceded in death by his wife: Karen Harker; brother: Steven Harker; parents: Melvin and Lois Harker.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 7, at 11:00 am, at the Delta City Cemetery. Those unable to attend are invited to view the video recording of the serivce .
