Rocky Allen Dalton

February 23, 1955 — June 18, 2024

Beloved father, brother and friend, Rocky Allen Dalton, age 69, died on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 in Springville, Utah. He was born on February 23, 1955 in Delta, Utah to Alma and Betty Jo Lee Dalton. Rocky was the youngest of five children, growing up with his sister, Darcia Ann Day; and brothers: Danny Lee Dalton, Douglas Earl Dalton, and Jesse Lee Dalton.

Rocky grew up in Delta, though much of his life was spent in a home in Lehi that he built with his family. He married Tera Arnae Jacobs. They were married for 35 years, and raised five beautiful children together. They later divorced.

A strong soul and loving father, Rocky had the kindest and most giving heart, and would always be the first to step forward and offer to help anyone in need, especially when it came to his children. Even as they got older and more independent in their lives, he would do everything in his power to make sure they never went without. He taught them by example how to stand up for themselves, work hard and be strong, and always strived to be a foundation for them to build on.

Aside from his family, some of his joys and passions in life included all things chocolate, as well as collecting baseball cards, rocks, fossils and old coins. He had a love for nature and found some of his greatest joy looking up to the sky and observing beautiful sunsets, which fed into his strong desire to discover the mysteries of life, collecting beautiful pictures and memories along the way.

Strength was one of Rocky’s defining attributes, from how he carried himself through his lengthy career as a refrigeration technician to his lifelong battle with chronic illnesses and severe health issues. He never gave up on anything, and his fighting spirit has left his family with countless memories and a lifetime of love. During his battles with his health issues, his brother, Jesse, sister, Darcia, and his children: Dana, Chalice, and Kaitlin were always by his side; as well as receiving the unwavering support from his children, Josh and Tisha, over their many miles of distance. Rocky had a deep respect, love and gratitude for all the support and care. Jesse was always his anchor during his final days, to see he was taken care of.

Rocky is survived by his son: Dana Allen (Myrna Kay) Dalton of Eagle Mountain, Utah; daughter: Tisha Nannete (Shaun) Curtis of Foxworth, Mississippi; son: Joshua Raymond Dalton of Nephi, Utah; daughter: Chalice Amber (Thomas Edward) Taylor of Provo, Utah; and daughter: Kaitlin Anae (Trent Ryan) Peterson of Kentucky; sister: Darcia; brother: Jesse. He also had 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who meant the world to him.

Though his loss weighs heavily on the hearts of those who loved him dearest, they take comfort in knowing he was called home to his loving Heavenly Father and brother, Jesus Christ, along with all of his loved ones that went before and have been patiently waiting for him. Rocky has made a beautiful imprint on the hearts of many, and will be deeply missed.
