Trina Wilkins Gardner Spotz

February 13, 1955 — March 24, 2025

Trina Wilkins Gardner Spotz returned to her Heavenly Father March 24, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones while in her home in Magna, Utah. She was 70 years old. She was born February 13, 1955 in Delta, Utah and grew up in Hinckley, Utah. She is the daughter of Horace “Buck” Webb and Pearl Nichols Wilkins.

Trina met and fell in love with Stephen Owen Gardner. They married on September 15, 1972.  Together they had 4 daughters and 2 sons. They later divorced in 1992. Trina then met and fell in love with Steven Michael Spotz in 1993. They married July 16, 1994.

Trina loved life. She enjoyed being in the outdoors and loved to go camping or hang out at the park with her grandkids. She loved her Heavenly Father and spoke of Him often. She shared her testimony with anyone she met. Trina believed in service and served in many capacities, including being a volunteer fire fighter for Hinckley, working in Cub Scouts, relief society, 4-H, etc. She would help anyone that she knew needed help: family, friends, and strangers; from weddings to funerals, illnesses to birthdays. Her favorite memories to share were going to her grandparents’ house to help with chores and spending time with them.

Trina believed in the importance of family. She loved being surrounded by her family whether it was sharing a good meal, wonderful memories, cleaning, holiday traditions, or making new memories, she wanted her family to be included. Trina was very creative. She quilted, crocheted, cross-stitched, sewed, and drew. She was a wonderful cook. She shared her creativity with her children and grandchildren. She taught them how to cook, crochet, knit, cross-stitch, and quilt. She encouraged her children and grandchildren to share their creativity.

Trina loved animals. She was always kind to them and had a variety of animals growing up. This included animals that her father found injured while working on the railroad, from dogs and cats to sparrows and skunks. Everywhere she went she would find an animal in need and bring it home to take care of or they would come find her. She loved and cherished them all.

Trina was preceded in death by both her parents, her sister: Susan; and her husband: Steven Spotz.  She is survived by her brothers: Alan (Deb) Wilkins; James (Sheri) Jackson; her former husband: Stephen Gardner; daughters: Jennifer (Bradley) Tame, Mandy Gardner, Kendra (Kenneth) Young, Meghan (Eric) Dazley; sons: Cody Gardner and Wade (Jennifer) Gardner; 8 granddaughters and 9 grandsons, 2 great-granddaughters and 2 great-grandsons.
