Viola Jean Overson Talbert Robison, age 85, passed away peacefully at the Fillmore Medical Center on September 6, 2013. She was born November 6, 1927 in Lynndyl to William Christian and Mina Johnson Overson. Jean married Dale H Talbert on November 6, 1945. Together they had 10 children. They later divorced. She married Phillip G. Robison in the Provo Temple on June 9, 1984.
Jean is a graduate of Delta High School. Then after her divorce from Dale, she attended Southern Utah State College in 1964. She graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and a secondary degree in English. She taught for 16 years in both Delta and Fillmore. She retired in 1989.
She served in various callings in the LDS Church and loved singing in the choir. Jean had a love of family, music and reading. She enjoyed family reunions, and family outings during Easter at the sand dunes.
Jean is survived by her beloved husband: Phil; children: Kristin Richard; Valerie (Bob) Runyan; Bill Talbert; Roger Talbert; Leslie Talbert; Douglas (Diane) Talbert; Theresa Talbert; Pauline (Bruce) Dutson; John (Lisa) Talbert; step-children: Lloyd (Pam) Robison; Evelyn (Leroy) Parker; Bruce (Mary) Robison; Vicki (Gail) Mitchell; Robin (Gerilynn) Robison. Together they have 41 grandchildren and 85 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son: Howard; brothers: Kurt and Raymond Overson; son-in-law: Rick Richard; granddaughter: Lindsey Kate Grimshaw.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013, 11:00 AM at the Fillmore 1st Ward LDS Chapel, 330 E 500 S. Viewings will be held at the Fillmore 1st Ward church on Wednesday evening, 6:00-8:00 PM; and Thursday morning, 9:00-10:40 AM, prior to services. Interment will be in the Delta Cemetery at 2:30 PM.
