Anna Liisa Solasaari Swensen, age 72, peacefully passed away in her home in Thousand Oaks, California on November 3, 2013 surrounded by her children. She was born Sunday, January 28, 1945 in Northern Finland to Vaino and Eeva Makinen Solasaari.
At age 18 she moved to the United States. She studied linguistics at BYU where she met Lewis T Swensen. They were married August 30, 1968 in the Manti LDS Temple. They had three children: James, Michele, and Jared. He died November 14, 2006.
She is survived by her children: James, Michele, and Jared; grandchildren: Summer, Paige, and Tyler; sister-in-law: AnnaLee Hepworth; nieces: Leann Hepworth and Lynette Bosworth; nephew: Howard Hepworth. Liisa was loved by so many near and far. She will forever be in our hearts.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 7, at 12:00 Noon, at the Thousand Oaks 2nd Ward, 3645 North Moore Park Rd, Thousand Oaks, CA. Viewing at 11:00 prior to service. Graveside dedication will be held on Saturday, November 9, at 1:00 PM at the Hinckley City Cemetery.
