Carol Steele Hardy

December 25, 1932 — November 4, 2013

Carol Steele Hardy age 80, passed away at her daughter’s home in Tucson, Arizona on November 4, 2013 after complications of an ongoing illness. She resided in Hinckley, Utah until her illness made it necessary for extended care.

She was born on December 25, 1932 at home in Sutherland, Utah to Doyle LeFevre and Lena Pearl Prows Steele.  She had six brothers and sisters: Arlo Steele (Sharon Shurtz), Elma Frazier (Donald), Marlon Steele (Rose) and Earlene Dastrup (Mac). Earl Steele (Leona) of Silver City, New Mexico and Sharrie Mora (Richard) of St. George, Utah.

She married Willard Wesley Hardy on July 27,1950  at the Manti Temple in Manti, Utah.  She lived in Pleasant Grove, Utah until Wes retired from Geneva Steel. They moved back to their childhood roots in Hinckley. They had four children Terry Wesley Hardy (deceased), Kim Peterson (Lloyd) of Tucson, Arizona, Bradley Steele Hardy of Hinckley, Utah, Allen Drew Hardy of Abraham, Utah.  She has eleven grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren, which she adored.

She was preceded in death by parents: Doyle and Lena Steele; husband: Willard Wesley Hardy: son: Terry Wesley Hardy; and her brothers: Arlo Steele and Marlon Steele and sisters: Elma Frazier and Earlene Dastrup.

Carol had a great love for the outdoors and all the beauty it provided. She loved to go to the mountains (“the ranch”) and camp out in the luxury of her 5th wheel. She and Wes would hunt and fish for their vacations. She was active in sports, playing on the city girls’ basketball team. She never missed a chance to go the boy’s football or wrestling matches and shouted the loudest. She was active in the LDS church up until she couldn’t due to health problems. She was in the stake YW presidency, and served an LDS mission at the Manti Temple.

Funeral services will be held November 13, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Hinckley LDS Chapel.  There will be a viewing prior, 9:00-10:40 am, for friends and family. Burial will be in the Sutherland Cemetery.

The family would like to thank those friends and family that gave support and care to Carol in her time of need. We would also like to thank Casa De La Luz hospice for the care they gave her.
