Roger Wade Williams II

November 27, 1974 — November 15, 2024

Roger "Duce" Wade Williams II, age 49, passed away unexpectedly on November 15, 2024 in Abraham, Utah. He was born on November 27, 1974 in Ogden, Utah, the youngest and only son of six children born to Roger Wade Sr. and Kay Carson Williams. He grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ben Lomond High School. Roger had a fierce, sarcastic sense of humor, making for a lot of fun (and trouble) with his other family members. His home was full of love and family, as even some of his nieces and nephews came to live in the home. Being almost his same age, they were practically siblings. Roger loved to look good and always kept his fashionable clothes looking sharp.

After his parents retired in 2000, the family moved to Marysvale, Utah to live in the beautiful mountains. Roger became a living dichotomy of lifestyle. He still dressed the part of a city boy, but quickly took to the country life in the mountains. A true outdoors enthusiast, he had a deep passion for fishing, hunting, and camping. Whether casting a line in a serene lake or navigating the wild trails, he found a sense of peace and happiness in nature that resonated with all who knew him. Roger had a love for the Las Vegas Raiders and the Utah Utes. His unwavering loyalty to these teams brought joy and excitement not only to his life but to all those fortunate enough to share in his enthusiasm. Roger made every moment memorable with his vibrant spirit and infectious laughter.

With a warm smile and a generous heart, Roger was always eager to share stories of his latest fishing trips or the big catch he had landed. His enthusiasm for the great outdoors inspired many to appreciate the beauty of nature and the thrill of exploration.

He was a hard worker, joining a friend in his business collecting firewood throughout the summers. Roger was an excellent cook, loving to provide the food for the many family gatherings. Roger loved helping people. In his early 30's, he became a Youth Counselor at a Youth Rehabilitation Program in Marysvale. He loved his job and the kids he worked with, and was a great example of one’s ability to take a positive path to a better life. He would often tell the kids of the times in his younger years when he had similar struggles, he moved forward and knew they could too. Near the end of this June, he was hired by White River Boys Academy in Delta, Utah, enjoying working with the new program. Roger was a blessing in to lives of everyone fortunate enough to call him a friend.

Roger is survived by his beloved canine fur babies: Rowdy, Sarah and Nova; sisters: Delilah Williams (Charlie Stenerson) and Billie Leggett, both of Moscow, Idaho; Connie (Alan) Crow and Sandra (Jim) Humphries, both of Granger, Wyoming; 7 nieces, 5 nephews and many grandnieces and grandnephews; exceptional friends: Larry & Heather Woodruff family, Jason & Kylee Huntsman family, and many other wonderful friends. He is preceded in death by his parents: Roger and Kay Williams; sister: Patricia Williams; and nephew: Joseph Allen Martin III.

A Celebration of his Life will be set at a later date, where friends and family are invited to share their cherished memories and honor his adventurous spirit. A special thanks to Jerimie Williams and Franki Williams for all the help and support.

Roger will be deeply missed, but the memories of his laughter, adventures, and the joyous moments spent together will always remain in our hearts.
