Chris Arnell Peterson

Chris Arnell Peterson, age 83, passed away on March 11, 2018 at his home in Hinckley, Utah. He was born on September 25, 1934 in Lehi, Utah the middle child of three born to Norman Wesley and Elva Latticia Ash Peterson. Arnell, for that is what everyone knew him by, graduated from Lehi High School in 1952; he participated in football and track and was a guard on the football team his senior year that played Millard High, coached by Taft Watts, for the state championship. Although Arnell enjoyed athletics, his true love was working with livestock. He loved showing his steers at all the Jr. Livestock Shows throughout the state. After he graduated, he showed his horses at many competitions, including the famous Golden Spike Futurity, at which his colt won grade champion. He loved to rodeo and compete in the Riding Club on his horse, “Sox.”

Arnell loved being outside riding his horse or working hard on the farm. The greatest thing he ever taught his sons was to be hard workers. He was well-known for his vast knowledge of livestock, and many came to him for help on what to do with their sick animals. He will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his six sons: Clint (Rebecca) Peterson, Delta; Shawn (Judy) Peterson, Kentucky; Jed Peterson, San Diego, California; Justin (Amy) Peterson, St. George; Brandon (Mindy) Peterson, Mona; and Tyle (Calli) Peterson, Delta; 23 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sister: Eldonna Vickland; brother: Wesley Peterson.

Following his wishes, no services will be held.
